Alicia N. Ritchie

Alicia N. Ritchie is an experienced attorney and board leader with deep expertise in governance, risk oversight, and systems thinking.  Her perspective is informed by serving as national coordinating counsel for a Fortune 200 company and leading multi-jurisdictional litigation across the country.  She is currently a partner at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, where she represents corporate clients in complex litigation and serves in trial leadership roles.  Previously, she was a principal at Miles & Stockbridge, where she served on the board of directors and led the firm’s products liability practice group.  Before entering private practice, Ms. Ritchie clerked for the Honorable Robert M. Bell, Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland.

Ms. Ritchie’s leadership extends beyond the legal profession and reflects a strong commitment to education, mentorship, and institutional development.  As past chair of the Coppin State University Development Foundation board, she oversaw advancement strategy and board operations.  Through her work with Coppin and related initiatives, she has supported institutional sustainability, expanded access for underserved students, and advanced efforts to improve retention and career readiness.  She also remains actively involved in mentoring and pipeline programs focused on developing diverse talent and strengthening connections between higher education and workforce needs.  In addition, Ms. Ritchie is an emeritus member of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ Foundation board.

Ms. Ritchie has been widely recognized for leadership and excellence in her field and the community, receiving honors from Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers in America, Maryland Super Lawyers, The Daily Record’s Leading Women and Top 100 Women, Profiles in Leadership Journal, and The Legal 500.  She has also been named a Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Distinguished Woman and Coppin State University’s Eagle of the Year.

Ms. Ritchie earned her JD, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law and both her MS in Criminal Justice and BA in English, magna cum laude, from Coppin State University, where she played Division I basketball.  She lives in Baltimore County with her husband Sidney and their daughter Zoe.
